We’re at the final countdown of the unveiling of our second Ellie’s Table location at The Egan House in San Juan Capistrano set to open Fall, 2016. We can’t wait to share the beauty of this magical home with you, so we’re posting our progress photos!

A Brief History

The Egan House was built in 1883 and again in 1898 after a fire, by the “King of Capistrano”, Judge Richard Egan. The Victorian/Greek revival style building made of terracotta bricks was originally named Harmony Hall and known to be the center of luxurious dinner parties and lavish social events which were attended by the most influential and famous people of that time. As one of the founding fathers of San Juan Capistrano, Irish-born Judge Egan settled in 1868 and purchased 160 acres of land where he ruled as judge, mayor, railroad director, school board member and just all around leader of the town!

When we found this location, it was love at first sight! We really couldn’t resist having a second Ellie’s Table at this beautiful historical building. When we began the restoration, we knew that no one else could create a more grand vision than interior designer Becki Owens. She did an amazing job creating a relaxing, cafe feel while highlighting historical features, and bringing out the grandeur of the home that was lost over time. Our exquisite floors were created by Cement Tile Shop, and the lighting by Cedar & Moss and Rejuvenation.
